Australia is a land of wild contrasts and natural enigmas. Heron Island a coral cay in the southestern Great Barrier Reef. The island is about 800 meters long and 300 at its widest.

Adelaide is the capital of South Australia and the fifth largest city in Australia. It has a population of approx 1.23 million. It was named in honour of  Adelaide of Saxe-Meiningen, queen consort to King William IV. The city was founded in 1836 as the planned capital for a freely settled British province in Australia.

Witchetty grub

The witchetty grub is a term used for the large, white, wood eating larvae of several moths. The term is used mainly when the larvae are being considered as food. It is a staple in the diets of Aboriginal women and children.

Pitjantjatjara aborigene

The Pitjantjatjara are an Aboriginal people of the Central Australian desert. They have, for the most part, given up their nomadic hunting and gathering lifestyle but have retained their language and much of their culture in spite of increasing influences from the broader Australian community. Today, there are still about 4000 living scattered in small communities across their traditional lands.

Disaster Bay, so named for the numerous shipwrecks that litter the bay. Ben Boyd is a national park in New South Wales, 328 km south of Sydney. It was established a protected area in 1971.
