Tikal is the ruins of an ancient city of the Maya civilization. It was declared by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site in 1979. This is my first card from Guatemala. Thanks go to Richie.
The stamps were issued in 2015 to celebrate “Guatemala as the Ibero-American Capital of Culture 2015”. Each stamp features a Quetzal, which is the national bird and currency of the country. They have a face value of 2 Quetzals.
