Valdivia is a city in southern Chile, it is named after its founder Pedro de Valdivia and is located in the confluence of the Calle-Calle, Valdivia and Cau-Cau rivers. It is the capital of the Los Rios region, a newly created region. In 1960, it was greatly damaged by the Great Chilean Earthquake, the most powerful ever recorded. Many thanks to my friend Hernan, you can take a look at his blog right here!

Valparaíso is one of the most important seaports in Chile. It has a population of around 275 000. Prior to the opening on the Panama Canal, the city lived its golden ages. The National Congress is also lcated here. The city is famous for its curvy roads up the hills. The Funicular is a very popular way of transportation in the city. In 2003, the city was added to the UNESCO World Heritage Site. Thanks to Hernan for this one.
