Þingvellir National Park, Iceland

Þingvellir National Park is a historical site in Iceland. It is where Parliament (Alþingi) was established in 930 and remained there until 1798. In 2004 it became a World Heritage Site. The postcard was postmarked in Reykjavík. Thanks to Hjalti.

Iceland Stamps

The stamp on the left represents The door of Valþjófsstaðir, a medieval (13th century) carved church door. The stamp was issued in 2010 and has a face value of 10 Icelandic Króna.

The stamp on the right was issued also in 2010 and features a harp seal. It has a value of 220 Icelandic Króna.
